January 05 newsletter

There's no better way to start 2005 than by having a financial health check up.

The financial health of our clients varies enormously.

We thought it would be useful to provide an interactive calculator so that you could assess your financial health.

While most of us intuitively know whether we are on the right financial track, the Shape of Money has developed a calculator to help confirm that assessment.

The calculator factors in the major components of a financial plan. Being on the right financial track is not just about earning a good income. It is also about the application of that income such as saving towards retirement, reducing debt and purchasing insurance to provide an on-going protection for that income.

The calculator is designed to provide two pieces of information.

The first is a summary assessment that indicates whether you are in great money shape, on the right track, or seriously struggling to get onto a good financial footing.

The second contains short pieces of information that look at the individual components of your financial health. Think it of as a mini financial plan.

There may be aspects of your financial health that need to be worked on. the Shape of Money recommends that you begin work on at least one item, and perhaps pick up another further down the track.

Sometimes, clients get swamped by too much information and a to-do-list which can be daunting. However, if you do nothing, nothing will change. And no one else can do it for you.

Click on the financial health check calculator today, to see whereabouts on the financial track you stand.
