Which KiwiSaver investment should I choose?

For most people, this will be a very long-term investment, so don’t get too stressed about which fund manager to go with and whether it should be a conservative, balanced or growth fund.

However, we would strongly recommend that you do take some time to review the Shape of Money’s information “Before you Invest”. This information will help put the investment into context, for example, helping you understand the reasons for a growth versus balanced investment fund.

Morningstar provides a quarterly KiwiSaver Performance Survey, which is “designed to help New Zealand investors assess the performance of their KiwiSaver superannuation options.”

The fund doesn’t have to be the one recommended by your employer. And, of course, it is recommended that you use an independent adviser.
