Unit Trusts

bl

There are two prices related to a unit trust: the entry price and the exit price.
The exit price of a unit trust is normally determined by the fund manager, through a valuation of the net assets of the trust. The total value of the trust is then divided by the number of units issued. For example, if the fund is worth $25m and there are 10m units, then the unit exit price is $2.50. Note, though, that some unit prices are fixed. Please review the investment statement for details of individual trusts.

The entry price is usually the exit price plus any related commission, service or other transaction fees.

The prices of unit trusts can be found at

  • The NZ Investor Monthly,
  • The National Business Review,
  • The web sites of individual fund managers.
